Floridians and southern costal residents have more experience with hurricane preparedness than those in the Mid-Atlantic; however, in the last two years, the Mid-Atlantic and northern areas have suffered at the hands of Mother Nature. Last year, hurricanes Irene and Lee caused widespread flooding in areas not typically affected, followed by the freak Halloween snowstorm that resulted in long-lasting power outages.
Take time now, not when the next big storm is looming, to be ready. Make a list. Check it twice. Be responsible for yourself. Be prepared.
